Ethereum is back in the spotlight this week. Tom Lee's firm BitMine just added 51,000 more ETH to its stash, worth about $126 million, according to the trader's own post on X.
The purchase came from FalconX and BitGo. It adds to a pile of buying that has kept Ethereum in the news for months.
Right now ETH trades near $2,435. That price sits well below its 2026 highs but above the lows seen earlier this summer.
This Ethereum price prediction looks at fresh ETF flow data, monthly return history, and the current chart setup to figure out where ETH might head next.
Where Is Ethereum Price Right Now?
ETH is sitting around $2,435 as of early September 2026. That is far from its highest point this cycle, which was closer to $4,800 based on monthly candle data.
The coin has had a rough stretch. Monthly return tables show ETH fell in January, February, May, and June of 2026. It dropped as much as 21.7% in June alone.
But July and August told a different story. ETH gained 18.5% in July and 32.53% in August. That is one of its strongest two-month runs in years.
What Do ETF Flows Say About Ethereum Right Now?
Spot Ethereum ETF data shows a mixed but improving picture. August 2026 brought in $1.76 billion in monthly net inflows, the largest single month on record for these funds.
That followed a rocky patch. ETFs saw net outflows in May, June, September, October, November, and December of 2025, based on fund tracking data. Some of those months lost over $1 billion.
Cumulative net inflow into Ethereum ETFs has now reached $12.97 billion. Total net assets sit at $15.23 billion, and monthly trading volume hit $17.45 billion in August.
This flip from outflows to record inflows lines up with the BitMine buying spree and suggests institutional demand may be turning back up.

The daily chart shows ETH has recovered about 33% from a recent low, moving from roughly $1,859 up toward the $2,473 area over about a month. That range has acted like a ceiling and floor in recent weeks.
Will Ethereum Price Go Up After BitMine's Purchase?
Big buys like BitMine's often catch traders' attention. When one firm buys $126 million of ETH in a single move, it can support price in the short term.
But one buy does not decide the market. Ethereum's price also depends on the wider crypto market, interest rate news, and how much money keeps flowing into ETF products.
Seasonal data offers a mild hint too. Historically, September has averaged a small loss for ETH, near negative 5.77% based on multi-year data, though results vary a lot year to year.
October has fared a bit better historically, with a small positive average. None of this guarantees anything, since past patterns do not always repeat.
Ethereum Price Prediction: Short-Term Outlook
If ETF inflows keep climbing and firms like BitMine keep adding ETH to their holdings, the coin could test the $2,473 resistance area again soon.
A clean break above that zone could open a path back toward the $3,000 region, a level ETH has visited several times this cycle already.
On the downside, if buying slows and ETF flows turn negative again like they did for much of late 2025, ETH could slip back toward the $1,859 support zone.
Traders should watch the monthly ETF inflow numbers closely. August's $1.76 billion was a standout month, and whether September keeps that pace will matter a lot for near-term price direction.
Ethereum Price Prediction: Longer-Term View
Zooming out, Ethereum has been through this pattern before. Big drawdowns followed by strong recovery months have shown up again and again since 2017, based on multi-year monthly return data.
The coin hit its all-time high above $4,800 earlier in this current cycle. Getting back there would need sustained inflows, not just single large purchases.
Firms like BitMine continuing to accumulate ETH could act as a steady source of demand. That kind of ongoing buying, paired with healthy ETF inflows, tends to matter more for price over months than any single headline buy.
Nothing here is a guarantee. Crypto markets move fast, and ETH's price will keep depending on how both retail and institutional demand shift in the weeks ahead.
