Lawmakers in Washington are bracing for a pivotal vote this week on the CLARITY Act, a bill that could settle years of regulatory ambiguity around XRP, according to people familiar with the matter.
The development is the lead story in XRP News this weekend, coming just days before the Senate is due to take up the measure.
President Trump met with advisers on the bill ahead of the vote, a signal that the White House is paying close attention to legislation that markets have watched for months, according to reports circulating Sunday.
The bill cleared the House by a comfortable 294–134 margin and now awaits action from the Senate Agriculture Committee, with a markup from the Senate Banking Committee expected in April.
"This isn't hype, it's enterprises quietly plugging into XRPL rails," one industry account wrote over the weekend, capturing the mood among those tracking both the legislative process and Ripple's underlying business.
Bill Would Codify Commodity Status, Backers Say
According to documentation circulated by Evernorth, a firm that discloses a substantial XRP treasury position, the CLARITY Act would have five specific effects if it becomes law, a detail generating fresh XRP News coverage this weekend.
The legislation would write into federal statute the commodity classification that the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission jointly outlined in a March interpretive release, according to the filing. It would also give institutional investors the compliance certainty that has, until now, kept some allocators on the sidelines.
The bill would further draw a legal line between XRP and stablecoin products such as RLUSD, which operate under separate rules. It would provide legal scaffolding for tokenized real-world assets, automated market maker liquidity and on-chain lending built on top of XRP. And it would establish a compliance benchmark for tokenized capital markets more broadly, ahead of comparable frameworks elsewhere in the world, the filing said.
Evernorth disclosed holding more than 473 million XRP in treasury as of December 31, 2025, and said it intends to deploy that position into on-ledger products once regulatory clarity is in place.
Ripple Named in UK Government Report
In another thread of this week's XRP News, Ripple was named four times in a report from Britain's HM Treasury, the Wholesale Digital Markets Champion First Report, published in July.
The report places the company among a group of firms supporting the UK's transition from early-stage tokenization pilots to full wholesale market infrastructure.
The report noted that Ripple Prime holds both a Financial Conduct Authority e-money institution license and a cryptoasset registration covering foreign exchange and digital-asset activity.
It also found that earlier UK task force efforts on digital-asset policy moved too slowly compared with other jurisdictions, including the United States, an assessment officials appear intent on addressing going forward.
Ripple's FCA and e-money institution approvals, secured earlier this year, position the company to expand regulated settlement services in the UK as that policy framework takes shape, the report indicated.
RLUSD Supply Climbs on Enterprise Demand
On the business side of this week's XRP News, Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has grown sharply. Supply reached $2.4 billion, up more than 50% over the past month, according to data reviewed for this report.
Ripple's Treasury division now serves more than 1,200 corporate finance chiefs, the company said, processing roughly $13 trillion annually across its client base.
Of the total RLUSD supply, $1 billion sits on the XRP Ledger and $1.4 billion on Ethereum. Daily transaction volume has risen from about $200 million in January to roughly $750 million now, nearly a fourfold increase in eight months.
Unusual Exchange Activity Draws Scrutiny
Traders also flagged unusual activity on Binance. On September 11, XRP recorded its largest same-day inflow and outflow in six months, with 91.2 million tokens moving onto the exchange and 113.9 million moving off, even as the exchange's overall reserve level barely shifted, according to on-chain data reviewed for this report.
Analysts said the pattern points to supply being shuffled between wallets rather than any meaningful accumulation or distribution. Liquidations hit both long and short positions during the same window, and funding rates have since cooled, which traders said is evidence of a positioning reset rather than a directional bet.
Chart Watchers Eye $1.38 Breakout
Adding a technical angle to this week's XRP News, liquidity clustered between $1.50 and $1.80 to the upside, with an even larger pool sitting near $0.98. With open interest still elevated and leverage present on both sides of the market, analysts said the coin could still be pulled toward either level in the weeks ahead.
XRP is currently consolidating inside a descending triangle pattern, with support identified in the $1.31 to $1.35 range. Chart analysts have pointed to $1.38 as the level to watch: a decisive close above it, they said, would open a path toward $1.60.
Looking Ahead
The Senate's expected Tuesday vote on the CLARITY Act remains the central event markets are watching in this week's XRP News cycle. A favorable outcome would dovetail with the enterprise growth already visible in RLUSD volumes and Ripple's expanding footprint in the UK, though the exchange-flow and liquidity data suggest short-term price swings are likely regardless of how the vote turns out.
