What BlockDAG Is Announcing
BlockDAG has published a new FAQ document about a token change it calls "New BDAG."
According to the project, Legacy BDAG holders will keep their original coins. On top of that, the project says eligible holders will also receive New BDAG at no extra cost.
BlockDAG describes this as a "new chapter" for the network. The project has not published independent third-party verification of these claims at the time of writing.
How Does The BlockDAG Token Change Work
Per BlockDAG's own materials, the migration works with two separate balances.
Balance 1 is Legacy BDAG. The project says holders keep every coin they already had.
Balance 2 is New BDAG. BlockDAG says this is added automatically for eligible wallets, based on the holder's existing Legacy BDAG balance.
The project states both balances will show up in the user dashboard. BlockDAG also claims both tokens will stay mineable and keep utility inside its ecosystem.
None of these mechanics have been confirmed through an audited smart contract or a third-party blockchain explorer as of this writing.
What Stays The Same And What Changes
Here is a quick summary based on BlockDAG's FAQ page.
| Item | Legacy BDAG | New BDAG |
| Ownership | Stays with holder | Added to eligible holders |
| Cost to holder | None | Claimed to be free |
| Mining status | Claimed mineable | Claimed mineable |
| Ecosystem use | Claimed retained | Claimed retained |
BlockDAG has not published independent audit data confirming mining output or ecosystem usage figures for either token.
Presale And Bonus Offers Tied To The Announcement
Alongside the New BDAG rollout, BlockDAG is promoting several offers.
The project is advertising a code, "BDAG100," which it says gives a 115% presale bonus. It also lists an aftersale price of $0.00000003, described as active for three days at the time of the announcement.
BlockDAG additionally references a "Live Swap" option, which it says offers a price 22% below market rate.
These are marketing offers from the project. Bonus percentages and time-limited pricing claims are promotional in nature and are not price guarantees. Crypto presale terms can change without notice, and past presale bonuses do not indicate future token value.
Why This Matters For BlockDAG Holders
Token migrations are common in crypto. Projects sometimes relaunch a chain, adjust tokenomics, or issue a companion token tied to an older one.
The key thing for holders to check is whether claims like "free tokens" and "eligible balances" are backed by an on-chain contract that can be viewed by anyone, not just a company dashboard.
Anyone holding BDAG should independently verify wallet balances through a block explorer rather than relying only on a project dashboard screenshot.
Focus Keyword Note
BlockDAG has centered this announcement on its dashboard changes for both Legacy and New BDAG. As of publishing, BlockDAG has not linked its FAQ claims to a public smart contract address for community verification.
