BlockDAG has kicked off its Keynote 6 event, and it comes with a big change for the project. The team is calling it a fresh start.
This is not a normal update. BlockDAG says existing holders will not lose anything. Instead, they get to keep their old coins and also receive new ones for free.
What Is BlockDAG's Fresh Start About
The fresh start means BlockDAG is launching a new coin structure. But it is not wiping out old investors.
Anyone holding coins from before will keep every Legacy BDAG they already own. On top of that, they get eligible New BDAG coins added to their account at no extra cost.
The project also introduced ranks for holders, from Crab to Kraken. This ranking shows how big a holder's position is inside the ecosystem.

How the New BDAG Stage 1 Pricing Works
New BDAG Stage 1 is priced at $0.002 per coin. Existing holders get early access to this stage before it opens more broadly.
There is also a bonus code involved. Holders can use the special key STAGE1 to get 15% extra New BDAG on top of any additional purchase they choose to make.
For example, a $100 purchase would normally give 50,000 New BDAG. With the 15% bonus applied, buyers get an extra 7,500 coins. That brings the total to 57,500 New BDAG for the same $100 spent.

What the Dashboard Shows Right Now
The BlockDAG dashboard currently lists a total coin balance of 0.00 BDAG for new visitors, along with a coin worth at launch shown as $0.00. These figures update once a wallet connects and reinstated allocations are applied.
The presale page also shows a total of $237.16 million raised so far. Total coins sold stand at 29,893,593,591, based on the batch data shown on the site.
A daily leaderboard also runs on the dashboard, with a $10,000 reward pool that resets every 24 hours based on UTC time.

What the BlockDAG Whitepaper Says About the Network
Beyond the presale mechanics, BlockDAG's whitepaper describes the project as a Layer 1 network built on a Directed Acyclic Graph structure combined with Proof-of-Work mining.
The paper says the network is fully compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, allowing developers to deploy Solidity smart contracts using tools like Hardhat, Remix, and MetaMask.
Consensus runs through what the whitepaper calls the GHOSTDAG protocol, which is designed to let multiple blocks get produced at the same time instead of one after another like older blockchains.
The document also states that total BDAG supply is capped at 150 billion coins, with mining rewards following a gradually reducing issuance schedule over time.
Why This Matters for Existing Holders
For people who bought into BlockDAG earlier, the main takeaway is that their existing coins are not being replaced or discounted. The project says legacy holdings stay fully intact.
The addition of free New BDAG coins, paired with early Stage 1 access, is aimed at keeping current holders engaged as the network moves toward its next phase.
Whether the fresh start structure holds up as more stages roll out remains something the market will judge over the coming weeks.
